Submissions to the Further Proposal have closed


Pursuant to section 21 of the Legislative Council Electoral Boundaries Act 1995, the Redistribution Tribunal now publishes its Further Redistribution Proposal.

Submissions must be lodged by 5pm on Monday 10 April 2017.

Where practicable, computer software and a trained operator will be available at the Moonah TEC office during the period for comments, suggestions and objections, to assist those wishing to make written submissions. Appointments may be made through the secretary -

The Further Redistribution Proposal, maps and reasons are available on this website and from any Service Tas office. If you prefer, the Secretary may be contacted to request material be sent to you anywhere in Tasmania.

Comments, suggestions and objections can be sent to the Tribunal via the online form, or by post, fax or email.

Submissions to the Initial Proposal are closed.


In accordance with Sections 13 and 14 of the Legislative Council Electoral Boundaries Act 1995, the Redistribution Committee has made an initial proposal and prepared an accompanying statement of reasons on 28th January 2017.

Within the period of 28 days after the publication of the initial redistribution proposal, a person or organisation may lodge a written comment, suggestion or objection in relation to the initial redistribution proposal.

The 28 day period for lodgement of submissions for the Initial Proposal formally closes on Saturday 25th February 2017. As the office is not open on the day, submissions may be received until 5pm Monday 27th February.
